It sounds like something stolen straight from a horror movie, but it actually happened: a seven year-old Indian girl was strangled, then buried alive by her closest family members, authorities believe.

The BBC is reporting that the young girl was told she was being taken to a fair by her uncle and aunt.

They instead took her to a nearby cane field in India’s Sitapur district, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, where they proceeded to strangle the girl and bury her alive. Read the full story here ▶

Trial starts for man accused of cutting off mother’s head, caught on camera tossing her into carwash dumpster

The murder trial for a Colorado man accused of killing his own mother and tossing her into a dumpster begins this week in Pueblo.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators released surveillance video of a man in October 2019 driving up to a dumpster at a South Side Pueblo car wash off of Ivywood Lane. The man then took a suitcase from his trunk and threw it in the dumpster.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Cuevas and the victim was his mother, 58-year-old Maria Cuevas-Garcia. Read the full story here ▶

A court in central Russia on Sunday arraigned a suspect on murder charges in the death of an American woman who was studying at a local university.

The body of 34-year-old Catherine Serou was found Saturday in a wooded area near the city of Nizhny Novgorod, 250 miles east of Moscow. She had been missing since Tuesday.
