Leyla Durmus lost her 21-year-old son Kaya after he died from an opioid overdose in 2016.
Kaya is buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Leyla visits his grave every day and is on a mission to spread awareness about opioid addiction.

A video shows a Dallas girl inexcusably forcing her Shih Tzu into a clothes dryer for a chance to gain likes and comments on Instagram.
The dog’s life is put in danger for entertainment and Insta-fame.
The Daily Mail reports that the girl live-streamed the video from a school.
Right before putting the dog in the dryer she can be heard saying, “I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna put his a** back in the dryer. He likes that s***.”
She claims she will put the dog “back in the dryer,” pointing to the possibility that this is not the first time she has abused the Shih Tzu.
The girl screams when the dog begins to spin in the hot dryer.
She laughs and claps at her amusing feat of abuse. The girl appears to be enjoying herself.
The girl’s extreme behavior shows an ignorance and disregard for animal life.
The girl stops the machine after 5 seconds of spinning.
She opens the door and the small Shih Tzu is noticeably uncomfortable and frightened.
The dog quickly jumps out of the dryer and runs to safety.
The girls says, “I’m sorry,” and she continues to laugh at the dog’s suffering.
The dog appears dizzy and afraid as the girl follows the dog down the hallway.
The video spread quickly. The girl deleted the video when her behavior was called into question.
The viral animal abuse video was picked up by Twitter and Reddit, causing outrage.
Retweeted over 8,000 times, the post on Twitter led to PETA and the police being contacted.
The girl deleted her Instagram account, but the damage was already done.
Twitter commenters made it clear that most people are aware that this behavior is disgusting, disturbing, and wrong.
The girl in the video hopefully has learned from her actions.

A teenage girl from Oklahoma was terrified after she was stalked online from a much older man. Fortunately, her dad knows the importance of keeping close watch over the people his daughter chats with online.
Thanks to an app he installed on her phone, he was able to access the chat with where an older man was sending her inappropriate pictures and making unwanted advances. The stalker obviously had ill intensions.

According to the Associated Press, Wayne Sperling pleaded guilty to keeping his young children in a filthy home and faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced on December 30.
Last October, the boys, ages two and six, were removed from the home when an emergency room doctor suspected abuse after the youngest had to be transported to the hospital for a cut on his forehead.
Sperling, his wife and the boys lived in an apartment filled with cat feces and flies, authorities said. The children were malnourished and could only communicate in grunts when they were found. Read the full story here ▶

ust like these fishermen who unexpectedly saw a bear cub clinging onto their boat. But as they would soon discover, the cub wasn’t alone.
Parents always want the best for their children and to see them perform to the best of their abilities. But sometimes our expectations outweigh our children’s capabilities and the results aren’t always what we expected.
This is what happened recently to a well-meaning bear mama, who thought her cub could swim better and longer than it actually could. Some unsuspecting fishermen in lake Vygozero in Russia caught sight of a cub in the water next to their boat. The little cub seemed tired and crawled hard against the hull in a desperate attempt to get up on dry ground. Somehow mom and cub had lost each other and the little one was obviously tired. There wasn’t much time left before it would drown – but luckily the fishermen’s boat showed up before it was too late.
They talked about what they should do, as they knew that the bear could try to bite and scratch them. But deep down they knew that they could only do one thing. Save the little bear. Despite the risk to their own lives, they knew that animals’ lives are sacred. They took a big oar and fished the little bear cub out of the water before it could understand what was happening. The cub understood that the fishermen were only trying to help, and didn’t put up a fight. It was only when the fishermen turned around that they saw something they never could have imagined.
The little bear cub was not alone — he had a sibling along with him on his little swimming trip. The fishermen jumped to action again and made sure the sibling ended up sitting safely on a net in the back of the boat. Thanks to their amazing and quick-thinking effort, they were able to save both little bear’s life. They drove the boat to the little island where their mother was waiting — and at that moment there was certainly not a single mom in the world who was more grateful than this mamma bear. The fishermen thought they were going out for an uneventful fishing trip that day. But instead they managed to save the lives of two young bear cubs — an effort nothing less than heroic.
A 3-year-old girl was abandoned in a hot car for over 12 hours after her mother’s trip to a liquor store. The child was found near death by one Florida deputy who then worked a “miracle,” and it was all captured on video.
It’s hard to imagine anyone leaving a dog in the car for over 12 hours, let alone a small child, and that’s what makes this story about this 3-year-old girl so unbelievable.
