When parents and guardians leave their children in the care of daycare centers, they are entrusting those companies with a very serious responsibility.

This trust is something that staff members from the My Little Playhouse Learning Center breached.

A video taken by a laughing employee at the Lubbock, Texas daycare center has gone viral after being posted on social media.

The video shows an incident that was taken during the daycare’s snacktime.

Apparently, a young girl had been refusing to eat, and in order to force her to do so, a staff member grabbed her by the hair and pulled and pushed her fiercely towards the food in front of her on a plate while ordering her to eat.

In the background of the video, the employee recording the cruel, heartless acts can be heard laughing.

Neither of these staff members seemed to have a shred of conscience about them for what they were doing, and it has led some to wonder if this negative treatment was a result of racism from the employees.

It wasn’t until the 17th of January that the video began to spread around the Internet.

Up till then, the poor girl’s family, unaware of what she was going through, continued to drop her off at the center regularly.

It’s unclear how long this mistreatment has been going on.

Shanna Walker, the grandmother of the young child, only stumbled upon the video 20 minutes before she went to pick her up from the daycare center in January.

She was, understandably, furious.

Laquitta Wilson, the child’s mother, and Alice Robinson, the child’s aunt, were both equally fuming.

According to Wilson, this is the first daycare center that she has ever used, as she has always been extremely protective of her four-year-old and three-year-old children.

After this bad experience, she does not wish to use daycare services ever again.

The young girl’s family are seeking for legal charges to be brought against the staff member who manhandled her.

The Lubbock Police were also informed of what happened after the video went viral.

Meanwhile, the daycare center has been attacked angrily due to their negligence and supposed obliviousness to this abusive treatment.

In response, the center released a statement that said the employees involved with the footage were fired, and that the police and authorities were investigating.

They also stated that the Texas Department of Childcare Licensing was informed of the situation.

However, they have declined to reveal the names of the employees involved, much to the anger of the girl’s family.

Many have accused the daycare facility as acting too cautious about the situation.

Walker feels truly betrayed by the horrifying incident, especially given how she put the lives of her precious daughters in the hands of this center.

She also believes that the person who recorded the footage of the event is equally responsible.

Even more disturbingly, this girl’s family would never have found out about the abusive treatment if the video had not gone viral.

If it hadn’t circulated around social media, the girl would have continued to be sent back to the center time and time again.

It is more important than ever that those who care for the children of others practice responsibility, kindness, and do not cross lines that even parents will not cross.

In Pennsylvania, a group of men were jailed for performing sexual acts on animals and making a teenager assist them.

31-year-old Matthrew Brubaker, 41-year-old Terry Wallace, and 34 year-old Marc Measnikoff have all been found guilty of having sexual intercourse with 12 types of animals, including dogs, horses, goats and cows.

The crimes too place in Munson, Pennsylvania, where the three men live.

The three men drew attention to themselves due to the creation of what the police called a “makeshift farm.”

Police allege that the farm included a V-shaped pen used for the men’s activities.

After investigating the farm, police discovered an additional victim of the crime: a 16-year-old boy.

The boy, who is not being identified, allege that the men had been having sex with animals in the pen for longer than a decade.

The exact nature of the boy’s involvement is highly contested by the police and three adult men.

When the men were originally arrested, they were charged with misdemeanor counts of corruption of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child along with more than 1400 charges of sexual intercourse with animals and cruelty to animals.

According to the police, the men had forced the boy to film their acts.

But the police also allege that the boy was forced to hold down the animals so that the men could perform sexual acts on the animals.

Brubaker’s attorney strongly denies that the boy was involved in either holding the animals down or holding the camera to record the men’s acts.

Despite being charged with misdemeanor crimes, the sentences that the men received were severe.

The lowest sentence received was 20 years, while the highest sentence was 41 years.

During the trial, Judge Paul E. Cherry was very obviously disgusted with the men’s crimes.

At one point, Judge Cherry remarked that the videos of the men’s crimes depicted some of the “most disgusting, despicable” acts he had ever seen during his time as a judge.

Judge Cherry also questioned the men about why there was a camera at all and asked if the men were intending to sell their videos.

The lawyers for the convicted men were not happy with the verdict and noted that it would have been legal to kill all 730 cows.

The SPCA of Clearfield County was called in to care for the abused animals.

An Army private was on a flight from Germany to Houston. He was escorting the remains of a fallen soldier.

As the soldier was getting off the plane, there was an impromptu flare of patriotism that will bring a tear to your eye. The captain had just asked that everyone remain silent as the soldier escorted the remains of a WWII soldier off the plane.

A family living in a Hartford, Connecticut kept hearing footsteps in the space above them, where nobody was supposed to be.

When water began leaking down after days of hearing surprising pitter-patter, the neighbor went to investigate. That’s when they walked into a sickening scene and cops came running.

An Indiana mom has been arrested after police discovered that she intentionally left her baby alone in a freezing car overnight.

According to WFIE, police received a tip around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning about two strangers walking through families’ backyards in Jasper.

It was during the hunt for those two suspects that police found a parked car with a tiny baby inside. Because the temperature was just three degrees outside, authorities believe the 911 call is likely what stopped this horrific lapse in judgment from turning into a full-blown tragedy. When teenager Kori Malenfant and her parents took a trip to New York for her surgery, they didn’t expect to be on the receiving end of such compassion and understanding.

The family’s visit to New York wasn’t for fun – it was to receive life-saving treatment for Kori’s Chiari malformation at the Presbyterian Hospital.

In simple terms, this is a crack or opening that is in the skull which can then lead to the brain becoming dislodged and moving into the spinal canal.

It can be treated, but only with surgery – and that’s what the family was there for.

Kori’s surgery was a success, so she and her parents were ready to go back to Portland in Maine.

After four days of resting, they packed up and went to catch their train.

They hopped on board an Amtrak train in New York, but the train was slowed by the bad weather, causing them to miss their connecting train from Boston.

The next train would arrive in 2.5 hours, which would be fine if not for the freezing conditions.

It was a very cold winter night, and Kori’s family knew they needed to find a warm place to rest up – somewhere that Kori could rest her neck and have it supported.

First, though, they had to put their bags somewhere safe.

That’s when they spotted a group of police officers nearby, and they asked if they could help them to stow their bags so they would not be burdened when finding a warm place to camp out by taxi.

But the officers weren’t just going to let them walk away.

They rang up their captain, Captain Kelley J. McCormick, and he soon arrived to speak to them.

McCormick heard the issue they were facing and told them to get into his vehicle so he could help them out.

The family agreed, gratefully, thinking that he would be taking them somewhere just a short distance away to wait it out.

But then they noticed that they were driving for quite a long time.

Kori’s mother asked what was going on, and McCormick laughed and joked that he was legally kidnapping them.

That’s when it dawned on the family – he was bringing them all the way back to Portland!

He explained that he simply could not allow Kori to be out in the cold right after a procedure like what she had gone through, and he was happy to drive them home.

The family was shocked.

They couldn’t believe that McCormick could be so kind to them.

As they talked, they found out more about the man and learned he was one of the main commanders who had been on duty during the bombing at the Boston Marathon not too long ago.

When the Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief found out about McCormick’s actions, he wasn’t at all taken aback.

He says that McCormick is the kind of person who always gives and gives.

That was definitely apparent to Kori’s family, who simply couldn’t thank him enough.

Texting and driving are illegal. It is deadly. Yet, people still think that they can handle the responsibility of driving and texting.

You are not that good – you can’t drive and text. You are not above the law. You will get hurt or maybe cause the death of another person. Please don’t text and drive.

Several years later, they got a diagnosis. It was 2014 when Jayla passed out while sitting on the toilet.

Jayla’s mom, Brooke Abate, found her daughter and rushed her to the hospital. At the time, the doctors determined it was a virus and just sent her home. Jayla continued to have episodes where she just passes out.Brooke has been searching for the past few years to figure out what is going on.

An Ohio mother who allegedly left her baby at home alone while she vacationed in the Caribbean has been charged with her daughter’s death.

According to police, Kristel Candelario left her 16-month-old daughter, Jailyn, alone for 10 days while she vacationed in Puerto Rico and Detroit. The child reportedly died as a result of the alleged abandonment.

Police responded to Candelario’s Cleveland home on June 16, to a report of unknown trouble. Upon arrival, EMS was on the scene, and Jailyn was pronounced dead. Read the full story here ▶

At the age of 37, Scott Hawkins life took a sudden turn for the worse.

While at home, watching over his kids while Danielle, his wife, was in another county for a class, something went wrong.

Danielle will never forget that day in April when she received a call from Scott all the way in their home in Durand, Michigan.

His voice was slurred and he told her he had a massive headache and said something bad was happening.

Both of them dialed 911, so Scott was able to be rushed to the hospital as his blood pressure jumped upwards and his lungs began to fill with fluid.

It was a good thing they arrived when they did, as it turned out that Scott was going through a massive stroke.

The reason behind the stroke soon became clear.

At birth, Scott had dealt with an arteriovenous malformation aneurysm, which had then burst in close proximity to his brain stem. It was responsible for the stroke.

Surgeons operated on him to attempt to quell the bleeding that was taking place inside his brain, but in the process, he developed a heart attack and flatlined for a few minutes.

After this event, Scott’s oxygen levels had dropped to the 60s, instead of the necessarily 90.

Doctors weren’t sure if he would make it through the night, and they told Danielle to contact friends and family.

The good news is, Scott survived that night. The bad news is that, a whole week later, he was unresponsive.

Doctors told Danielle it didn’t seem like he would ever regain consciousness again, and if he did, that he may not be able to function in day-to-day life.

They advised her that it may be time to say goodbye – but she refused. She knew Scott’s spirit was strong enough to make it.

So instead of choosing to give up, she gave him a kiss on the lips – and to her shock, she felt him kiss back.

Later, she admits she may have imagined that detail, but to her, that was a sign that she shouldn’t give up.

She started doing things to bring him back. Five weeks later, Scott didn’t need to use a ventilator anymore.

She then began to bring in thumb guitars as Scott was a musician, and Scott would be able to flick some notes.

When doctors told Danielle it was likely only a reflex, she asked him to change the notes he was playing, and he did.

Then, one day, she covered the airway in Scott’s neck – an incision to allow better breathing, and Scott began to speak.

He said he loved her. He asked for pain medication. And when doctors asked what he had been playing, he said, “An instrument.”

This is when doctors finally started to have faith in Scott.

He was moved to Spectrum Health’s Rehab and Nursing Center, after which he received six days of rehab every week.

He was given speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and music therapy to help Scott get his sense of coordination and strength back.

After 16 weeks, Scott was able to go home – walking with the assistance of a walker, and with his wife by his side.

She had never doubted him for a moment and never strayed from his side, providing all the love and support he needed.

Now, Scott is making slow but steady process towards full recovery – and he has his wife to thank for inspiring the doctors to believe he could recover.
