In an upscale Southern California suburb, a mother of five thought she smelled the neighbor’s barbecue grill.

The smell went on for several days, always being strongest in the morning, then dissipating by the afternoon. The mother didn’t think much more about it, until her kids came inside with bloody noses.

Have you ever looked at your child and wondered how they can be so amazing? Some children are just wise beyond their years.

Leland Shoemake was one of those children. Sadly, he died on September 25, 2015. He has contracted meningitis from an ameba (Balamuthia mandrillaris). Amber, Leland’s mom, believes he got the deadly infection playing outside.

After Leland had passed, his parents returned home and found the note he had left for them. The note was in the living room and Tim, Leland’s dad, found it. The moment he read the note, he cried. Here is the note – read it, and you will cry too.

Leland was known for leaving little notes for his parents, this one was clearly very different.

Amber and Tim held onto each other and cried after reading their son’s note. Balamuthia infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is a rare and often fatal condition. The Balamuthia amebas live in the soil. Playing in dirt, gardening, or just breathing in the soil where the amebas live increases your chance of infection.

No one is immune – these amebas can infect anyone. Any open wound can be a way into the body. Some symptoms of infection include nausea, vomiting, headaches, difficulty walking and talking. The treatment is the use of several drugs. According to the CDC, the correct diagnosis is made just before the patient dies.

This makes it hard for doctors to find the right combination of drugs to treat it properly.

There were more than two dozen deaths after pesticides were accidently ingested during a celebration for newborn Abdullah Hayat they were attending.

Pakistani police confirmed that the death of approximately twenty-six people and hospitalization of others was the result of pesticides in sweets purchased for the event.

Many people are following the advice of expert Marie Kondo and helping reduce their stress and anxiety levels by doing a better job of keeping things around them tidy and organized.

But in Great Britain, Stephen Mckears wasn’t always putting everything away in its place in his work shed.

So it became a great mystery as to why things like clips and screws that he had left in disarray one day would be organized and in their right place when he visited the shed the following day.

Mckears was scratching head in amazement as to what exactly was going on.

One possibility was that he simply didn’t remember putting things away or maybe he was beginning to show signs of losing his mind.

Was it possible that an entity from the spirit world was visiting the shed on a nightly basis to conduct clean-up chores? He simply couldn’t figure it out.

He devised a test by scattering the entire contents of one small storage bin around the shed.

But when he came in the next day, everything he had dumped on the ground was back in the plastic bin. So Mckears enlisted the aid of his neighbor, Rodney Holbook.

Luckily, Holbook is a professional photographer of wildlife who had an extra camera ready to set up inside the shed to capture whatever action was happening after dark.

When the two men eventually watched what was on film, they were amazed.

Mckears wasn’t losing his memory or his mind and there was no evidence of a helpful ghost.

What the camera did reveal, however, was that a mouse who had taken up residence in the shed turned out to have a penchant for neatness.

Between the hours of 12 midnight and 2:30 in the morning, this neat-freak mouse was cleaning up any displaced items that Mckears had neglected to put away prior to leaving for the day.

Even if the item was heavy, the mouse managed to lift it and place it back in the storage container.

It’s likely you have never seen a mouse with a knack of keeping things clean and well organized.

He serves as an inspiration to everyone, children especially, to keep their living space tidy and neat.

They say that you don’t have to be related by blood to be family. A group of Harley-Davidson bikers proved this to be very true as they reached out and gave a total stranger the most important wish of his life.

Per reports, this amazing photo, which shows a black man holding a white baby, was shared on social media. As many social media users began to realize what was really happening in the snapshot, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

“So a lot of people like this picture. So I wanted to take a minute to tell the story,” Facebook user Cody captioned a snapshot of his son sitting in the lap of a black man.

Cody went on to identify the black man as Milton, who was his childhood next door neighbor. Shugart had many a good memory with Milton at the center. “Milton was my childhood next door neighbor,” wrote Cody. Read the full story here ▶

Leland Foster, 27, entered the house of Michelle Forrells and her three children lived. Foster held the mother and her twin babies at knifepoint and then forced them into the bathroom.

Foster wanted to drown the babies (he was the father of the twins), but what he didn’t plan on is that Forrells 12-year old daughter would run next door for help!

The next-door neighbor, Cash Freeman, grabbed his gun and ran over to help! Freeman saw that Foster was about to drown the babies and shot him twice in the back. Shortly after that, Freeman was taken into custody and later released. Read the full story here ▶

According to the parents, their 10-year-old son Ray was playing with friends outside after having drunk the fluids when he suddenly began to exhibit distressing symptoms.

Just one hour of drinking 6 bottles of the most popular drink in the world, the boy begin to violently convulse, leading to the boy’s parents fearing the worse.

“He couldn’t control his head or arms or anything,” his dad Jeff told WIS-TV. ‘His motor functions were gone.’ Its unclear what size the bottles Ray drank were. Read the full story here ▶

This brave woman, Sheri, never thought that her life would flash before her eyes because of ‘one small bite’. But that’s exactly what happened to this amazing woman.

Just one day after the incident, the pain had gotten worse. That’s when she decided to seek care from a healthcare provider and was prescribed antibiotics. However, the medicine did not work as quickly as she had hoped, and the area around her lip continued to swell.

Before long, it was clear to the woman and those near her that her problem was much more severe than they had originally thought.

The doctors told her that they weren’t sure if she was going to make it, and the woman said in an interview: “I thought I wasn’t going to live through the night when they first told me. It looked like a big ol’ balloon on my face.”

Sheri was reportedly bit on the lip by a venomous spider and soon found herself fighting for dear life as she battled through hallucinations and hospitalization to cope with the venom that was coursing through her body and making her lip swell up to multiple times its original size. The spider bite occurred while the woman was in the middle of a kayaking trip. She was taking a course, which was a ten-hour kayaking trip when the spider bit her. At first, she didn’t even realize that she was bitten by a spider, and she tried to ignore the pain. But as it would turn out, she had a lot to worry about because the spider that bit her lip was a brown recluse spider, which is highly venomous and dangerous.

“I’m almost 50, and I’ve been floating in this river since I could swim, six years old,” she told Fox News. “I was just praying I wasn’t going to die because I hear horror stories, and you look on the internet and see all this stuff.” She added, “They told me they weren’t sure if I was going to make it, and I thought I wasn’t going to live through the night when they first told me. It looked like a big ol’ balloon on my face.” She was finally admitted into the hospital, and doctors quickly diagnosed her with a brown recluse spider bite. They treated it as such by giving her a dose of antibiotics to help kill off any remaining bacteria from the spider’s venomous fangs. The woman also underwent surgery on her lip so that they could remove all of the dead tissue from the area.

Luckily, the brave woman did pull through and survived. Now, she feels extremely lucky to be alive today. She encourages others who find themselves in a similar situation as hers to seek help immediately so they can hopefully prevent something like this from happening again. “If you think there’s anything wrong with your body, go see somebody,” said Sheri on her advice to others. “Because if I didn’t go see somebody, anything could have happened.”
