Police officials said the 32-year-old dad, later identified as Malcolm, was taken into custody last week and later charged with aggravated child abuse after he reportedly shook his 3-month-old baby so hard the baby was left fighting for his life. Now, 8 months after the incident, the baby remains at the hospital on a ventilator, police officials said. Malcolm is being held on $150,000 bond.

In January 2023, officers responded to the victim’s home after Malcolm called 911 and told the dispatcher that when he picked up his baby son, the child went limp and was unresponsive. Doctors told investigators that the boy was suffering from a brain bleed and alerted authorities of possible abuse.

Doctors also said that the baby went into cardiac arrest and his heart stopped for 16 minutes. He also suffered a possible arm fracture. Doctors told investigators that it’s impossible for the baby to suffer injuries like that on his own, because they are are immobile.

Hospital staff told investigators that the boy’s injuries were reportedly caused by abusive head trauma, likely from someone shaking him, L&C reported. During an interview with investigators, the boy’s older brother said that Malcolm sometimes became frustrated with the baby and had shaken him in the past, including the morning of the incident. The father took care of the baby while the mother worked, police officials said. The baby’s injuries would be comparable to being in a car crash, police said.

Prosecutors said the 37-year-old defendant, Andrew, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences after he was found guilty on multiple charges, including: aggravated murder, abduction, child neglect, child abuse, aggravated malicious wounding, assault and possession of methamphetamine.

According to the court documents, the 2-year-old child, Harper, was beaten to death by Andrew while Harper’s mother, Amanda, was at work.

On April 16, 2020, the then-boyfriend arrived late to pick up Amanda from work. During an interview with investigators, Amanda reportedly said that she wanted to take her girl to a hospital.

Andrew wouldn’t let her and put a gun to her head to dissuade her, court records say. Harper got medical attention after Amanda called Andrew’s mom, who called 911.

First responders rushed the child to the hospital. Per reports, the girl had a visible mark on her forehead and was taken off life support later that week. During an interview with investigators, the 37-year-old man gave multiple excuses, such as: the child fell out of a shopping cart. Andrew also said Harper fell off a four-wheeler. He also added that Harper reacted poorly to something she ate because of a nut allergy and her condition worsened as the day passed.

During the trial, the prosecution called Christopher s a witness. Per reports, he was in jail with Andrew when he was first taken to jail. Christopher reportedly told prosecutors that while in jail, Andrew reportedly told him he would get high on meth while watching the children and believes Harper may have gotten into his bag of methamphetamine and was later unresponsive. Detective Austin said during the interview an argument had started over a potential breakup between Amanda and Andrew, and that injuries to Amanda could be from se* or wrestling with the children.

According to the police officials, the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Lakiri, was taken into custody after she reportedly shot and killed 29-year-old woman, Laurielle, and left the victim’s 7-year-old daughter with her mother’s body for hours.

Officers, who responded to a shooting call, made contact with the 7-year-old child, who opened the door for them. The girl, who was not identified due to her age, told the officers that her mom was sleeping on the sofa.

The responding officers removed the blanket and realized that the woman was not sleeping, but was shot in the head and dead. Read the full story here ▶

Police officials said the 25-year-old man, later identified as Clayton, reportedly killed his 74-year-old dad, Jorge, after an argument.

During an interview with investigators, the father reportedly admitted to killing his father by repeatedly kicking the elderly man in front of their house. Clayton was taken into custody and later charged with open murder and tampering with evidence.

The 911 caller told the dispatcher that an elderly person was on the ground and someone was yelling for him to die. The responding officers found the 25-year-old son washing his feed with water. Read the full story here ▶

A young boy faced severe neglect and nearly lost his life before being found emaciated in his home.

At the time, Jordan lived with his dad, Brad Bleimeyer, his step-mother, Tammi, and seven step-siblings.

An odd one out as the only child from Bleimeyer’s other relationship, he was treated extremely poorly by his parents.

While all his step-siblings were treated well, Jordan lived in a tiny closet beneath the stairs and was repeatedly starved, hit, and abused.

The small cupboard that Jordan had to call home was completely unsafe for living. Bare nails and wires sticking out of every corner, and it was extremely cramped.

Thankfully, there was someone looking out for him – Cody, one of Jordan’s step-siblings. The 16-year-old was extremely concerned about his young brother.

Cody spoke to teachers, but they didn’t know how to help.

He spoke to police, and they took trips to the house again and again but ultimately told him that there wasn’t anything they could do.

Even when at his door, the police couldn’t come in because Cody didn’t own the house and was underage.

Cody and one of his sisters, Allison, worked hard to try and talk to their parents about Jordan.

But this enraged their mother and father, who would punish them physically and berate them verbally while tossing threats around.

Then, one day, after a big fight Cody had with Bleimeyer, his parents both went outside. Knowing the fight already landed him in trouble, Cody made a brave decision.

He hadn’t seen Jordan in about a week at this point. So, he hurried to Jordan’s closet and wrenched open the door – and what he saw absolutely shocked and horrified him.

Jordan was naked except for a diaper, and he was covered in marks and bruises. He was foaming at the mouth and his face appeared caved in.

He was mere skin and bones, completely pale, and smelled awful. Cody stared in horror for a few seconds then launched into action, knowing Jordan may not survive very long.

He passed Jordan to Allison and rushed outside to confront his parents.

Allison, then 14, notes that Jordan was so light that he felt like he wasn’t even there. He was also terrified as she did her best to comfort him.

Meanwhile, Bleimeyer and his wife were furiously yelling at Cody, shoving him around and telling him that it wasn’t his business to open the closet.

Cody tried to attract attention, and when that failed, he used a prepaid phone – thankfully one he still had even though his mom had confiscated his normal one – and rang the police.

As he did so, Tammi was packing up and getting all the kids ready to leave. Luckily, this time, there was something that the police could do.

Jordan finally received justice in December 2018. Bleimeyer received a 15-year prison sentence and Tammi received one for 28 years.

The rest of the children wound up in foster care, and Jordan now lives happily and healthily with his biological mother.

According to the statement, the 27-year-old mother, Jessica, reportedly subjected her 3-year-old daughter to medical child abuse and lied to medical staff in an alleged case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Officials said that the mother reportedly had many unnecessary medical procedures performed on her daughter for an unknown amount of time. She was taken into custody on suspicion of injury to a child, according to reports.

Prosecutors said the 27-year-old woman reportedly falsified her 3-year-old daughter’s condition to medical providers, causing them to draw the child’s blood 28 times, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFFA.

An investigation into Jessica’s alleged abuse began few months ago, when a doctor with the Children’s Hospital told authorities about suspected medical child abuse after learning Jessica had been seeing multiple doctors for her child at about a dozen medical facilities in three different states. The medical professionals reportedly accused Jessica of doctor shopping.

During one hospital visit in March, the 3-year-old was given a feeding tube after Jessica allegedly told medical staff that her child was not eating and losing weight, despite providing the girl with a sufficient amount of calories, the affidavit states. However, doctors became suspicious of Jessica because the child was still not gaining weight after some time. According to the affidavit, the mother also claimed her daughter had Ketotic Hypoglycemia, a blood sugar illness. In another instance, the mother and her daughter reportedly flew through a company called Miracle Flight, which provides flights to children with medical complications. She claimed her child had gastroparesis, a condition that prevents proper stomach emptying.

Several doctors later ruled out both of those diagnoses according to Fox 4 News. The affidavit states Jessica also created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to take her daughter for medical treatment. During the alleged abuse, authorities said Jessica chronicled her child’s health journey on social media. She had about 24,000 followers on TikTok, where she reportedly posted videos multiple times a day about the victim’s medical journey and frequently interacted with her viewers, per the affidavit.

Jessica reportedly made similar posts on her Facebook and Instagram accounts. Gasser is also accused of sending‘messages to a friend stating she would delete all social media posts about her child’s health, including private messages. The child is now thriving after months of separation from her mother according to the affidavit.

The 50-year-old mother, Lori, was found guilty in May for killing two of her children, 16-year-old Tylee and 7-year-old Vallow. She was also found guilty of conspiring to kill Tammy, the spouse of Chad, whom she later married.

Last week, the killer mom was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole for the murders of her two youngest children. She also received a life sentence for conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death of a romantic rival.

“I don’t think to this day you have any remorse for the effort and heartache you caused for others who looked for your children when you knew where they were and knew they were dead,”

Judge Steven her during the sentencing hearing. “They were found dead, burned, mutilated and dismembered, and buried like animals.” Judge Steven determined that since all three murders took place at different times, the mother should be held responsible for each one. Therefore the life sentences for murder would run consecutively. She also received life sentences for conspiring to murder her two children and 10 years for grand theft. The sentencing hearing was the first time both the judge and victims directly addressed the mother.

“The most unimaginable type of murder is to have a mother murder her own children, and that’s exactly what you did,” Judge Steven told her. “It is the most shocking thing I can imagine.” “You had so many other options,” the judge said. “You chose the most evil and destructive path possible.” “You are a liar, an adulteress and a murderer, and because of the choices you made, my family lost a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and daughter,” Samantha, Tammy’s sister, said. “She was 1,000 times the woman you will ever dream of being. Lori also addressed the court prior to her sentencing, but her plea did not help her case. “Jesus knows me. And Jesus understands me. I mourn with all of you who mourn my children and Tammy.

Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened here. Jesus Christ knows that no one was murdered in this case. Accidental deaths happen. Suicides happen. Fatal side effects from medications happen,” she said. “The first time JJ visited me after he passed away he put his arm around me and said to me ‘you didn’t do anything wrong, Mom. I love you and I know you loved me every minute of my life.’ JJ was an adult spirit and he was very tall when he put his arm around me. … He’s busy, engaged, he has jobs he’s doing there, he’s happy where he lives.” “I look forward to the day we are all reunited and I too, will rest with them in the arms of my Jesus,” she said.

The doctors told the family that the 35-year-old woman, Ashley, reportedly died after drinking roughly 64 ounces of water in just 20 minutes. Police officials released a statement, saying that she died from water toxicity, the process of depleting one’s body of electrolytes, following an outing over the weekend.

According to the health experts, water toxicity happens when one drink too much water too fast. The effect is to overwhelm one’s own body’s complex organ systems, primarily the kidneys, to regulate the balance of fluids. The effect is to dilute one’s own body of sodium, potassium, and chloride, which regulates proper cell function.

On the last day of her trip, the mom of two had told family members that she felt lightheaded and had a headache, symptoms of dehydration and incredibly thirsty.

Despite rapidly drinking 64 ounces of fluid, no amount of water could satiate her thirst. Ashley drank the equivalent of four 16oz (500ml) bottles. When the woman returned home, she collapsed in her garage, having suffered severe brain swelling. The mom of two never regained consciousness.

At the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with water toxicity, also called hyponatremia, which develops as a result of there being too much water in the body and not enough sodium. When Devon, Ashley’s brother, heard of his sister’s condition, he was in disbelief, telling WRTV: ‘It was a big shock to us all. I was just like, this is a thing?’ Adding: ‘She just felt like she couldn’t get enough water… When they left the sand bar to when they got to the dock, it was about a 20 minute boat ride … she drank four bottles of water in that 20 minutes. That’s half a gallon. That’s what you’re supposed to drink in a whole day.’

Recalled the brother: ‘My sister, Holly, called me, and she was just an absolute wreck. She was like “Ashley is in the hospital. She has brain swelling, they don’t know what’s causing it, they don’t know what they can do to get it to go down, and it’s not looking good”‘. Ashley never regained consciousness and doctors diagnosed her with water poisoning, or hyponatraemia. The condition occurs when someone consumed an excessive amount of water in a narrow window of time, which overwhelms the ability of the body’s complex organ systems, primarily the kidneys, to regulate the balance of fluids.

Police officials said the 33-year-old man, later identified as Montrel, was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including: murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in catastrophic injury, aggravated battery, and battery resulting in death to a person less than 14 years old after he reportedly killed his 4-year-old cousin Jolly.

Police officials also said the 911 dispatcher received a call about a 4-year-old boy who was having a seizure. The first responders reportedly found the victim unconscious.

There were no visible signs of injury on the child, the paramedic observed, but he was unresponsive, L&C reported.

Shortly after, officers found bl00d on the bathroom counter and sink, damage to the bathroom door, and multiple blo0dstains on walls in multiple bedrooms.

The 4-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital due to the severe nature of his injuries. Doctors told investigators that the boy suffered non-accidental trauma and never regained consciousness. Unfortunately, the child died from blunt force injuries to his head. Police officials said the 33-year-old suspect said he was disciplining the child by making him do wall sits because the boy had put his shoes on the incorrect feet. The suspect then allowed the little boy to use the restroom. This made Montrel even more upset because the child was going to sit on the toilet to ur-nate instead of standing ‘like a regular boy.’

The 33-year-old man made the little boy use the restroom and then return to the wall to do wall sits. At one point, he looked at the boy and observed he was on the ground near the corner of the door frame with blood coming out of his mouth. The boy’s mother, Jasontina, was in and out of the house buying groceries and then unloading them from the car and putting them away. The woman told investigators that she was aware of the discipline being meted out to her son and that it was happening because he had incorrectly put his shoes on.

Montrel faces a possible sentence of 45 to 65 years in prison if convicted as charged for the crimes alone. Prosecutors said that Montrel’s statements could not account for the injuries doctors determined the boy had suffered from before dying, including: patterned bruising on his scalp; subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhage; severe, diffuse hypoxic injury affecting the majority of his brain; torn upper lip frenulum with bruising of the surrounding mucosa; bruising on arms; suspected laceration/contusion of the mid portion of the pancreas; possible bowel contusion of the ascending colon; several possible rib fractures’ and patterned bruising to the back and diffuse bruising over the right buttock, L&C reported.

According to the court documents, the 30-year-old defendant, later identified as Kasandra, reportedly put a plastic bag over her former live-in boyfriend’s head and stabbed him in the stomach. The woman then watched the 66-year-old man, Ramon, bleed out to make sure he died. Kasandra was indicted on one count of first-degree murder.

On Nov. 11, 2022, officers responded to a call about a dead body being discovered at a residence. The responding officers reportedly found the lifeless body of the 66-year-old man, who died from apparent stab wounds. During an interview with investigators, the woman reportedly provided a detailed description of her killing the 66-year-old man to a friend who later disclosed the information to the authorities.

Investigators said that there were no signs of forced entry at the home. A family member informed the police that were on a call with the victim on the previous day, when they heard a woman’s voice in the background. They noted that Kasandra sounded surprised about the unexpected guest and told the family member he would ring them back. The family member reportedly indicated that Kasandra was likely the one who dropped by the victim’s home. Per reports, Kasandra reportedly provided a detailed description of her killing Flores to a friend

According to the court documents, another witness allegedly told the authorities that Kasandra confessed to murdering Ramon, in which she first suffocated him and then knifed him in the torso multiple times. “She told [the witness] she had put a bag over his head, and when that didn’t work she stabbed him in the stomach,” the warrant reportedly said. “She said the knife had broken, so [Kasandra] got another knife from the kitchen and stabbed him again.” The witness further stated that she did not immediately flee the scene. “She told him she had watched Ramon to make sure he died,” the warrant reportedly said.
