16-Year-Old Hero Risks Life To Push Blind Elderly Man’s Wheelchair Home Away From Tornado

0

You know the struggle gets real when there’s a tornado warning in town because no one is ever completely prepared for a situation like this.

When the city of St. Louis, Missouri received a tornado warning, double amputee, blind and wheelchair-bound, Gregory Beck, knew he had to rush back home from the grocery store before the tornado hits his city.

But as we all know, such circumstances can alter the mind, leading to tons of anxiety thereby hindering our train of thought, leaving our brain haphazard. Read the full story here ▶

Asthma Attack Left Girl Coughing & Vomiting, But School Wouldn’t Give Inhaler

0

If your child were sick at school, would you rather the school aid them or let them suffer? One little girl’s parents are outraged after her daughter’s school chose the latter.

9-year-old Emma Gonzales began coughing profusely on Monday, while in class at Columbia Elementary in West Jordan, Utah. Unfortunately, the little girl was having an asthma attack, but when she grabbed her inhaler, things didn’t exactly go the way she needed.

On seeing the girl grab for her rescue inhaler, her teacher instructed her to go to the office, where school administrators confiscated the inhaler.

It has been reported that the asthma attack had gotten so bad that the child coughed to the point of vomiting. All this while school officials held the device and medication that could rapidly bring her relief.

“When I get into the coughing fit, I kind of hurtle up on the ground, can’t breathe and then I start to kind of feel a little nauseous,” Emma said.

Watching her obvious distress and inability to breathe, school administrators refused to give Emma her inhaler. So, why would the school deny her of medical treatment during a time of distress? According to Fox 13 Now, the school refused to comply because there was no notification of Emma’s prescription on file.

It has been reported that Emma received the prescription for the inhaler after an asthma attack resulted in a trip to the emergency room over the weekend. In most schools, written consent is required where medications are concerned. School administrators must have signed documentation of all prescriptions before administering any medication to a child.

But, regardless of protocol, Emma’s mother feels the school could have done more after witnessing her daughter’s condition. Her obviously irritated mother, Brittney Badger, recently voiced her frustrations during an interview with a local news outlet. “When a child is puking all over themselves and they can’t breathe, you know you kind of have to take action right then and there,” Badger said.

However, district spokeswoman Sandy Riesgraf, argues otherwise. She recently released a statement defending the school’s decision. “There could be all sorts of problems if children were just allowed to take any medication and we didn’t have that verification. Again, this is for the student’s safety,” said Riesgraf.

Golden Globes 2024: Rosamund Pike goes from Saltburn to siren in a lavish lace gown as she leads the British glamour with Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Kate Beckinsale and Dame Helen Mirren at star-studded annual ceremony

Leading the way on a night widely expected to lavish Emerald Fennel’s bleak masterpiece Saltburn with more than its fair share of accolades,

Rosamund Pike ensured she commanded attention as she joined fellow Brits Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Kate Beckinsale and Dame Helen Mirren outside the historic venue.

The actress, 44, arrived wearing an elaborate fascinator which she revealed was a ‘protective veil’ after her face was ‘entirely smashed up’ from a skiing accident over the festive break.

When asked if it was ‘a hat or a helmet’ on the red carpet, Rosamund, who is up for Best Supporting Actress, said to Variety: ‘It’s a protective veil for the occasion. I had a skiing accident over Christmas, it’s not what you want when you are coming to the Golden Globes on the 7th of January.

‘On the 26th December my face was entirely smashed up and I thought I need to do something. It’s healed.’

Taylor Swift’s movie documenting her Eras Tour has received a nomination in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category.

The 81st Golden Globe Awards will be the first major broadcast of awards season, with a new home on CBS and will be hosted by 52-year-old comedian Jo Koy.

And while to audiences it might look similar on the surface, it’s been tumultuous few years behind the scenes following a bombshell report in the Los Angeles Times.

The 2021 report found that there were no black members in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – which votes on the awards.

Stars and studios boycotted the Globes and NBC refused to air it in 2022 as a result.

After the group added journalists of color to its ranks and instituted other reforms to address ethical concerns, the show came back in January 2023 in a one-year probationary agreement with NBC. The network did not opt to renew.

In June, billionaire Todd Boehly was granted approval to dissolve the HFPA and reinvent the Golden Globes as a for-profit organization.

Its assets were acquired by Boehly’s Eldridge Industries, along with Dick Clark Productions, a group that is owned by Penske Media whose assets also include Variety, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone and Billboard.

In mid-November, CBS announced that it would air the ceremony on the network on Jan. 7. It will also stream on Paramount+.

The group nominating and voting for the awards is now made up of a more diverse group of over 300 people from around the world.

Couple adopted triplets, but 7 days later ‘doctor handed life-altering news’!

There are plenty of couples out there who can attest to the fact that they, for one reason or another, simply couldn’t fall pregnant. Or at the very least it took them a deal of time trying before they did.

Others have no problem with conceiving a child, but the truth of the matter is the whole process can be more challenging than most of us realize.

Just ask Sara and Andy, a couple who tried everything in their power to have a baby. For three years, Sara and Andy dreamt of falling pregnant, and were determined not to give up hope when it began to look like they were destined to be disappointed. Read the full story here ▶

Man Pleads Guilty to Keeping Kids in “Filthy Home” of Horrors

According to the Associated Press, Wayne Sperling pleaded guilty to keeping his young children in a filthy home and faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced on December 30.

Last October, the boys, ages two and six, were removed from the home when an emergency room doctor suspected abuse after the youngest had to be transported to the hospital for a cut on his forehead.

Sperling, his wife and the boys lived in an apartment filled with cat feces and flies, authorities said. The children were malnourished and could only communicate in grunts when they were found. Read the full story here ▶

Fans react to Kevin Costner’s appearance at the Golden Globes – and everyone’s saying the same thing

Yet even by the standards of a verified Hollywood A-lister, last year turned out to be quite the rollercoaster ride for Costner.

Much was said about his decision to leave hit-show Yellowstone, but any and all controversy on that front was surely drowned out by the news of his separation from longtime partner Christine Baumgartner.

The actor was said to have been shocked by the news that his wife was filing for divorce, initiating a tumultuous period wherein the couple faced off against one another in court.

Costner and Baumgartner were married for 18 years before the latter filed for divorce on May 1, 2023 citing “irreconcilable differences.” Costner was reportedly stunned by her decision to do so.

Fast forward to the end of 2023, however, and it appeared as though Costner was making moves to put his former marriage firmly in the rearview mirror. According to reports, the Yellowstone star has entered a relationship with singer Jewel – the two were recently snapped together on Richard Branson’s Necker Island at a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation.

It can be assumed that Costner would prefer to fly somewhat under the radar in 2024, but it should come as no surprise that he became a talking point after presenting an award at the Golden Globes last weekend.

Costner teamed up with America Ferrera to present the award for Best Female Actor in a Television Series: Musical or Comedy (the winner of which was Ayo Edebiri from The Bear).

And it seems as though Costner and Ferrara riffing off of one another struck a positive cord with the public. Indeed, there was a fair amount of praise online for Costner referencing Ferrara’s monologue from Barbie.

“You know, you have a scene that I really love,” Costner said on stage. “I think a lot of people really love that scene. You know, ‘It’s literally impossible to be a woman.’ You know that, ‘You’re so beautiful. You’re so smart and it kills me that you don’t think you’re good enough.’ That was pretty good.”

Shutterstock

America replied: “Did you, Kevin Costner, memorize my monologue about womanhood from Barbie?”

Though Kevin admitted he hadn’t memorized the whole thing, he did go on (while struggling to hold back laughter): “But it’s an important message, and it always serves to remind me what’s possible in films. It just reminds me that when we take our time, when we manage to get it right, when film is working at its very best, it can be about moments you never ever forget.”

As mentioned, the presenting duos’ back-and-forth was well received by audiences around the world.

“I was laughing so hard with Kevin Costner trying to stay serious…also, aging well! Yay America,” one person wrote.

“He worked as much on that segment as he did on his english accent in Robin Hood,” another quipped.

Lmao he’s trying so hard to stay serious 😂,” a third added.

Angry Grandpa Discovers Thug Inside Home, Delivers Brutal Justice

0

Friends of a criminal are threatening retaliation on social media after a fed-up Arkansas grandpa delivered instant justice to an armed punk who he found invading his home in broad daylight.

According to local news source KSLA, the horrific home invasion took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in Genoa, Arkansas. Miller County Sheriffs said that the 81-year-old man was at home when he opened his garage door to discover an armed man pointing a gun at him. This is when things took a turn for the worse.

Unfortunately for the man, this elderly gentleman had armed himself and was ready to defend himself. “I walked outside the door, and he was standing right there with a big pistol. I had my hand in my pocket on my pistol, and the battle was on,” said Buddy Cates, in an interview with a KSLA reporter. Cates, who told the reporter that he had been robbed 6 times in the last 10 months, wasn’t about to let it happen again.

This is when Cates says he and the criminal opened fire on each other. The horror of that moment when Cates was forced to defend his life is unimaginable, but the consequences of not being prepared to do so are much more daunting — and thankfully, this homeowner was prepared.

Cates said that he and the assailant, who has been identified by his friends and family on social media as 18-year-old Shemar Harris and also goes by “Pablo Bouta’bag Harris” as well as “Marblow DiNero,” exchanged nearly 15 rounds. Cates was unharmed after the gun battle, but the assailant ran out of luck. Harris was shot at least once and died a short time later at a nearby Texarkana hospital.

Whoever got the biggest gun and fastest will be boss when it is all said and done. … In this case, it was me,” said Cates. When deputies from Miller County Sheriffs Office arrived, they interviewed the homeowner and took two firearms as evidence, according to TXK Today. No charges have been filed against the homeowner.

However, almost immediately, people who knew Harris started posting comments on Facebook about what a great guy he was and how they couldn’t believe he was actually dead.

Another Facebook user named Jessica Green memorialized Harris by posting a newspaper article from Harris’ previous arrest on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Harris was arrested by Texarkana Texas Police after he robbed a sporting goods store of a few boxes of ammunition with a stolen gun.

Harris was reportedly confronted by an off-duty police officer inside Academy Sports after employees asked for help when they noticed Harris was trying to steal several boxes of ammunition. Officer Alan Bailey was off duty and shopping at approximately 1:45 p.m. that Saturday when he was asked to intervene. Bailey identified himself as a police officer and asked Harris to remove everything from his pockets.

Harris then ran from the store and across a parking lot as Bailey gave chase along with a couple store employees. A bystander who was walking nearby with his son also joined in the chase when Harris almost knocked his son over. Harris reportedly pointed a gun at the man’s face and told him to back off. Regardless, the man pursued Harris and was able to tag team him with Officer Bailey to take him into custody. Bailey reportedly punched Harris in the face one time during the scuffle and suffered a broken hand.

Harris was then transported to the Bi-State Jail, according to TxkToday.

Cop scratched 72-year-old man’s car, then bull-rushed him on the ground and started brutally punching him, but passerby caught everything on video

0

A police department finds itself under scrutiny after an 18-year veteran of the force was accused of assaulting a 72-year-old man while off-duty.
