According to the court documents, the 31-year-old woman, later identified as Erika, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after she stabbed her mom to death and severely injured her aunt.

Just 6 hours before the fatal stabbing, both victims got into fight with the defendant. Officers, who responded to a disturbance call, wanted to take Erika into custody for assault and child endangerment, but the DA’s office declined due to a lack of evidence.
