SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — A police officer was shot Monday morning after responding to a home violence incident in Escondido. Authorities confirmed that the suspect believed to be answerable for capturing the officer was discovered useless in a vacant condominium in Escondido, in keeping with the Escondido Police Department.

At 7:45 a.m., the Escondido Police Department acquired info that the suspect, 29-year-old Anastasio Rosas Jr., was seen in a vacant condominium in the 700 block of West Lincoln. Crews rapidly responded to the realm. While they had been responding, the sound of a gunshot was heard from throughout the condominium. 

When police entered the condominium they discovered 29-year-old Anastasio Rosas Jr. who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators consider that Rosas was the one suspect being sought, and there’s no additional hazard to the general public.

Around 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a reported home violence disturbance at a house in the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue and Morning View Drive, simply west of Centre City Parkway, the Escondido Police Department mentioned.

Officers discovered a person concerned in the disturbance left the house with “a high-powered rifle,” the division reported.

Shortly after 3 a.m., officers discovered the person driving close to Reidy Creek, south of Lincoln Avenue, then the person allegedly shot an Escondido police officer. The officer was taken to a hospital for therapy of a minimum of one gunshot wound and was in steady situation, police mentioned.

Authorities launched a photograph of the suspected gunman, recognized as Anastasio Rosas Jr.

Authorities shut down the transition ramps from northbound and southbound Interstate 15 to eastbound state Route 78 in addition to Centre City Parkway from El Norte Parkway to Mission Avenue for the investigation.
