Patriots RB’s Damien Harris and rookie Rhamondre Stevenson are going to huge for the offense.
Damien Harris season expectations:
Patriots running back Damien Harris has proven since the 2020 season that he belongs in the NFL. Recently, New England traded former 1st round pick, Sony Michel, to the Los Angeles Rams, so that opened the door for Harris. Damien’s 2020 season seen him rush for 691 yards, adding 2 rushing touchdowns on the year. The third-year back from Alabama was red-shirted his first year in the NFL, and given the chance last season. I see Damien rushing for close to 1,000 yards on the season and scoring between 8-10 rushing touchdowns. Rookie Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris are expecting big workloads this season.
Rookie Rhamondre Stevenson has some upside heading into the season:
Rhamondre Stevenson was drafted by New England in the 4th round in this year’s NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. Stevenson can contribute a lot to the Patriots’ offense from what we saw in the summer. Rhamondre scored five touchdowns, rushed for 217 yards during the Pat’s three preseason games. He also had a 91-yard touchdown in his first career NFL game against the Washington Football Team. Look for Stevenson to be a big factor right behind Damien on the depth chart in the run game.
Harris and Stevenson up and coming RB duo:
Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson could be a top 10 back-duo:
As long as Damien and Rhamondre stay healthy and consistent for most of the 2021 season watch for these two to be an issue for opposing defenses. Both men can shred defenses for short-yardage and long gains once the offensive line blocks and they see holes to run through. New England can’t count out J.J. Taylor and reliable James White contributing in the passing game and also on the ground. Good depth New England has in the running backs room for the year.
