An Ohio man whose wife had permanent brain damage after a group of teens dropped a rock on her car has killed himself, police say.
Randy Budd, 55, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his home on Aug. 6, according to the Daily Mail. Budd, a father of four, sent his family a text message telling them he loved them before taking his own life.

Three men decided to approach a woman who was alone returning home from work. Little did they know she had a surprise for them that they never saw coming.
A woman was approached by three men as she returned home from work around 1 a.m. Friday. The men tried to rob her, but the woman fought back.
“I just heard them saying ‘Shut up, be quiet, don’t say anything’ and the one here had a weapon,” said the victim, Crystal.

Madelyn Sheaffer, a 43-year-old woman from Independence, Missouri, accused employees at the Adventure Oasis Water Park of discriminating against her because of her fuller figure.

According to the statement, the 27-year-old mother, Jessica, reportedly subjected her 3-year-old daughter to medical child abuse and lied to medical staff in an alleged case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
Officials said that the mother reportedly had many unnecessary medical procedures performed on her daughter for an unknown amount of time. She was taken into custody on suspicion of injury to a child, according to reports.
Prosecutors said the 27-year-old woman reportedly falsified her 3-year-old daughter’s condition to medical providers, causing them to draw the child’s blood 28 times, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFFA.
An investigation into Jessica’s alleged abuse began few months ago, when a doctor with the Children’s Hospital told authorities about suspected medical child abuse after learning Jessica had been seeing multiple doctors for her child at about a dozen medical facilities in three different states. The medical professionals reportedly accused Jessica of doctor shopping.
During one hospital visit in March, the 3-year-old was given a feeding tube after Jessica allegedly told medical staff that her child was not eating and losing weight, despite providing the girl with a sufficient amount of calories, the affidavit states. However, doctors became suspicious of Jessica because the child was still not gaining weight after some time. According to the affidavit, the mother also claimed her daughter had Ketotic Hypoglycemia, a blood sugar illness. In another instance, the mother and her daughter reportedly flew through a company called Miracle Flight, which provides flights to children with medical complications. She claimed her child had gastroparesis, a condition that prevents proper stomach emptying.
Several doctors later ruled out both of those diagnoses according to Fox 4 News. The affidavit states Jessica also created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to take her daughter for medical treatment. During the alleged abuse, authorities said Jessica chronicled her child’s health journey on social media. She had about 24,000 followers on TikTok, where she reportedly posted videos multiple times a day about the victim’s medical journey and frequently interacted with her viewers, per the affidavit.
Jessica reportedly made similar posts on her Facebook and Instagram accounts. Gasser is also accused of sending‘messages to a friend stating she would delete all social media posts about her child’s health, including private messages. The child is now thriving after months of separation from her mother according to the affidavit.
Evoni, 18-year-old waitress from Texas, was busy on the morning her destiny changed. The teen works at a waffle house saving up tips to go to college.
But on this particular day, she was unaware that her small act of kindness towards a customer would end up with her receiving a life-changing gift! While busily serving customers, one elderly man timidly asked Evoni if she could help him cut his ham. She did, and her kindness did not go unnoticed.
That’s because they were being watched by a woman, who snapped a photo and put it up on her Facebook page, where it quickly went viral.
The woman wrote, “I don’t know her name but I heard this elderly man tell her his hands don’t work too good. He was also on oxygen and struggling to breathe. Without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham. This may seem small but to him, I’m sure it was huge. I’m thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative.”
The senior is a regular at the restaurant and is known as “Mr. Karaoke” by the restaurant staff because he often sings at the local senior center. He recently had a bout of pneumonia and is experiencing muscle weakness in his hands. He later said: “I can hold a fork fine and dandy — but to cut it looks like I’m going to stab somebody.”
He very much appreciated Evoni’s help that morning, and it seems that thousands of others also appreciated her kind gesture too. Two days after the woman posted the picture up to Facebook, Texas Southern University approached her and awarded her a $16,000 scholarship!
