Famed for her extreme physical modifications to resemble Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, Sahar Tabar, born as Fatemeh Khishvand, stirred a storm of controversy in her home country, Iran.
The drastic cosmetic procedures she underwent, including liposuction and rhinoplasty, sparked intense discussions and debates on digital platforms.
The woman, often referred to as Iran’s Zombie Angelina Jolie, subsequently faced a ten-year prison sentence.
Imitating a Hollywood Icon
Tabar, just 19, reportedly underwent more than 50 cosmetic surgeries to dramatically alter her looks.
While she never explicitly expressed her intention to imitate Angelina Jolie, her followers drew a parallel between the two.
She took to social media to display her transformation, posting photos heavily manipulated through digital editing, exhibiting exaggerated cheekbones, overfilled, angled lips, and a significantly reshaped nose.
However, many have cast doubt on the validity of her surgeries, suspecting the images to be substantially edited or digitally doctored.
Rise to Infamy on Social Media
By showcasing her unconventional aesthetics on Instagram, Tabar attracted substantial attention, amassing nearly four million followers. But her Instagram handle, @sahartabar_official, was subsequently deleted. Her mother fervently disapproved of her online activities and the startling images that evoked Zombie Angelina Jolie. Yet, Tabar continued her pursuit of notoriety. She commented, “The digital world was a convenient route… far easier than trying to become an actress.”
In a conversation with Russian media outlet Sputnik, Tabar described her extensively modified images as a form of artistic self-expression. She clarified that her aim was not to mimic Jolie or the Corpse Bride character, though she accepted the resemblance. Above all, she emphasized her individual identity, insisting that imitating others was not her main objective.
Legal Woes and Confinement
Tabar’s activities ignited widespread perplexity among her audience. She was arrested in October 2019 for allegedly sharing blasphemous content on Instagram. Moreover, she was charged with unlawful property acquisition, incitement of violence, negatively influencing young people, generating income through unsuitable means, and breaching the country’s stringent dress code for women.
Consequently, Tabar received a ten-year prison sentence, a harsh punishment for a young woman, and was incarcerated in Qarchak Prison, renowned for being one of Iran’s most severe women’s prisons.
A Plea to Angelina Jolie
Upon learning about Sahar Tabar’s predicament, Iranian activist Masih Alinejad took to social media to draw attention to her case. Alinejad reached out to Angelina Jolie, appealing for her assistance and use of her influential platform to support Tabar’s cause. Alinejad implored, “Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail. Her mother weeps every day, hoping for her innocent daughter’s release. Dear Angelina Jolie, we need your voice here. Help us.”
After a 14-month prison term, Tabar was eventually freed. Her release coincided with the death of Mahsa Amini, another young woman arrested and assaulted by Iranian police for inadequately wearing her hijab.

17-year-old Cameron Cook has been hailed as a hero by the city of Boston after saving a young girl from a child predator.
The teenager from South End was shopping at a local Target with his mother when he noticed something odd about a fellow shopper. “I seen the guy grabbing himself, and my mom goes, ‘Cam let’s go, keep walking,’ I was like, no, something’s going on,” he told CBS News.
Cameron continued to watch the man follow a little girl. When the predator made his move, Cameron stepped in. “So I went up to him, I was like, ‘Excuse me sir, do you know her?'”
“I was close enough that I could smell the liquor coming from his mouth,” Cameron’s mother Heather commented. “It was horrible. He was big, and Cameron had no fear at all. He just stood firm on the fact that he knew what this man was doing was wrong.”
The brave young man refused to move and encouraged the creep to leave. After mumbling a few curses, the man finally walked away. Cameron informed the store manager who turned security footage of the man over to police.
“I’m very proud of him, but it’s totally within his character,” Heather continued. “He’s not afraid to do what’s right.”
The City Council of Boston recognized Cameron for his selfless heroism and the Boston Celtics basketball team honored him through their Heroes Among Us program. At a home game the Celtics asked Cameron to step onto the court and presented him with an award for making an “exceptional contribution” to his community.

Shania Twain is a major superstar whose name is known worldwide. However, her life was not always as glamorous as one would assume. It is always fascinating to know more about your favorite celebrity’s childhood.
She might dominate the charts and travel the world now, but that did not always happen. She did not always have an easy life.
Keep reading to know more about the singer’s childhood, which might surprise you.
Born to a family grappling with poverty in Timmins, Ontario, she had a tough start to her life. Her stepfather’s low-paying reforestation job and her mother’s depression made things even harder. She was just one of five children and had to learn early on to do without.
She began to sing in bars and perform; however, soon, she would have a lot more responsibility on her shoulders than just having some gigs every now and then. Soon she was left to be responsible for her siblings.
Since her family always struggled with money, she knew how to be without even essentials such as food, heating, and electricity.
She realized her life was different to that of her classmates when she would be without lunch and look at her peers during lunch, hoping they would leave some of their food uneaten so she could take it.
The young girl would usually tell her teacher that she had left her lunch in her locker or at home. She began to focus on music as a way to escape the harsh realities of her life.
She would go to the forest with her guitar, light a small fire, and then lose herself to her music. The music she played helped her forget the harshness of her real life where her responsibilities and poverty weighed her down.
First taste of performing
Her mother was able to see her talent and began to take her to gigs at local bars when she was just 8 years old. She would perform after midnight when patrons would already have their alcohol served to them since she legally could not be in a place where alcohol was actively being served at that age.
When she was 11 years old, she got a permit to perform earlier in the evening however she did not get paid till she was fourteen years old. She also started working at McDonald’s, a job she later referred to as her “saving grace,” as it allowed her to get paid while also providing her with regular meals, something she did not know about.
She would work at McDonald’s after school and then sing at bars afterward; her schedule was incredibly busy and left her exhausted. However, she focused on her music and hoped to have a better life.
However, her family struggled with things other than poverty. Her stepfather had legally adopted her and her siblings. He was harsh and abusive and made their home environment incredibly toxic and scary for the children.
She recalls having to fend for herself against his violence. She recalled a specific moment when she threw a chair at him in self-defense. “I think a lot of that was anger, not courage,” she later said of it.

The abuse went on for a while, and it was only one part of her trauma. When she was ten years old, her stepfather began to sexually abuse her. She kept the abuse a secret, and it further weighed on her for years till she felt brave enough to talk about it publicly.
Some of her trauma remained unresolved because when she was 22 years old, her mother and stepfather died in a car crash. Shania Twain was left to care for her younger siblings. She was the second eldest and was responsible for the younger children.
A new job
She wanted to make sure all of them were together, so she took a singing job at a nearby resort, a job that allowed her to have a small home. At the time, her life was very stressful. She woke up to chop wood to heat up the house, get her siblings to school, then sing late into the night.
The teenager had to maintain a feminine image of a polished singer for her job. She had never had time to focus on herself before, but now her job required her to take care of herself.
The big break
As her siblings grew up and became more independent, she was able to focus more on her own career. She recorded a demo and sent it to record labels. Her hard work paid off when Mercury Nashville signed her. This marked the beginning of her musical career.
As her music career started, she met a renowned music producer. The two of them collaborated and soon it turned romantic as they married one another. They soon developed Twain’s musical style, co-writing and producing together.
Her celebrity grew rapidly as a result and she reached massive audiences with her music.
But as her success rose, she noticed that her voice was having some setbacks. But it took another decade for her to get a diagnosis for Lyme disease, which had affected her vocal cords.

She had to take a break from singing and undergo surgery which left her with a raspier voice than before. She embraced this difference and focused on her music. Her musical partnership with her husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, was still working well. The two have a son together, Eja D’Angelo Lange. Apart from musically, the couple also were doing well personally however Twain discovered that her husband was cheating on her.
He was having an affair with his close friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, whom she had previously worked for as their secretary. Shania Twain found an unexpected ally in Thiébaud’s husband, who was just as blindsided by the affair. Her relationship with Frédéric Thiébaud started off with their mutual devastation.
However, the relationship soon turned romantic and in 2011 the two of them married and began a new chapter in their lives.
Twain revealed that she no longer holds any resentment for her ex-husband and his affair. She acknowledges what he did for her musical career and the child they share together.
The singer has seen it all in her life! She has been on the highest of highs and the lowest of lows! We are sending the singer our best for her future. Share this with other fans of Shania Twain who might not have known this about her.
The 27-year-old trans woman, Minor, who reportedly impregnated two female inmates at a women’s only prison received bad news. Officials said that Minor was sentenced to 30 years in prison for stabbing her foster father to death. Following her conviction, Minor has written about her mistreatment on her blog. She described how prison guards singled out her transgender status. When she requested that a female officer search her, one guard allegedly mocked her.
Officials said that Minor was relocated to a men’s jail, where she is housed in a vulnerable unit. Minor reportedly said that she was misgendered and beaten by corrections officers during transfer and is now at risk of being assaulted by imprisoned males. She was relocated from the correctional facility after getting two women pregnant at the women’s institution. During her transfer, the convict was allegedly assaulted by prison guards and attempted to take her life. Following her attempt to hang herself to death while on transport to the men’s facility, she was put on suicide watch.
Minor also claims in another article on the site that prison officers assaulted her during the transfer from the ladies’ jail to the men’s jail. Minor was kept for a few weeks at the state prison, where guards referred to her as a he at least thirty times. After the story of Minor becoming a headline that she had gotten pregnant with two women at correctional facility, she was transferred to a different facility. The trans woman also opened up ‘about being forced to live in a male prison’ on her blog. She said she was “shipped” to the “male facility” due to the fact that I had hung myself in the van.
“Suicide watch was imposed on me before going into this dimly lighted cell. Prior to entering this dreary chamber, I attempted to negotiate with authorities if a female officer could strip-search me since I felt more at ease doing so. After the Lieutenant denied me, I asked for this. He threatened to cut all of my clothes off and put me in a dry cell if I did not obey his instructions and allowed two male cops to strip search me. I wept as the male officer spoke to me in a way that I felt was incorrect. As inmates who are on watch are housed in the detention unit rather than the infirmary, I was placed in a dark cell within detention housing.” Although she was permitted to keep her cosmetics, she felt that if she wore them in the male facility, it would be a death wish. She said, “I have accepted that I am in a male facility, but I have not accepted nor will I ever agree to or accept that I am anything other than a woman who happens to be transgender.”
