Ohio teacher, 57, pleads guilty to inappropriate sexual contact with an underage student

A 57-year-old highschool chemistry instructor in Ohio has pleaded guilty to having intercourse trysts in her house with an underage student.

Portage County Common Pleas Court Judge Laurie Pittman then subsequently convicted Hallstein of each fees.

Her plea comes months after her arrest in August when investigators accused her partaking in sexual conduct with a minor student of Hudson High School, the place she taught chemistry, again in January 2017.

Hallstein – previously Gauntner – had been employed by the Hudson City School District since 1995.

‘The charges stem from an alleged sexual encounter that took place off school property, in January 2017, with a former Hudson High School student who was a minor at the time,’ mentioned Herman in his assertion. ‘In order to protect the privacy of the student victim and the integrity of the investigation, we cannot share further details at this time.’
