Michelle Obama to appear opposite Tracee Ellis Ross on ‘black-ish’


Being First Lady was nice, however Michelle Obama may need a second act in appearing.

In tonight’s eighth and remaining season premiere of “black-ish,” Obama, 57, will appear as herself on the ABC present.

Tracee Ellis Ross, who performs Rainbow “Bow” Johnson, revealed in a WSJ Magazine interview that she personally referred to as Obama to invite her on the sequence.

“She and I are friends. It was a phone call I made,” Ross, 49, stated of Obama. “We got to do really important subject matter that’s mixed in with fun, so it’s receivable.” 

The former FLOTUS will use her display screen time to promote her voter registration campaign, When We All Vote. In the episode, she takes the Johnsons to a voting fundraiser.

“I’ve long been a fan of @blackishabc’s wit and all-around brilliance, and it was such a thrill to join in for an episode. I can’t wait for you all to see it!” Obama wrote on Twitter.

“It felt really fun to welcome someone so special who’s been so important in our world, in our culture, in the kinds of stories we told on ‘black-ish,’” Ross added.

In a video posted on Twitter by Obama, she sits subsequent to Ross to announce a “black-ish” watch get together and inspired viewers to volunteer.

“You do not want to miss this,” Obama stated within the video. “This is going to be a good one.”

But this isn’t the primary time Obama had the chance to act.

She appeared as herself on a two-part episode of the NBC sequence “Parks and Recreation” in 2014.

The season premiere of “black-ish” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
