LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A scholarship has been created in honor of Las Vegas resident and Jeopardy! winner Brayden Smith.
The five-time Jeopardy! champion handed away Feb. 5 of issues following surgical procedure, the Smith household instructed 8 News Now. He was 24.
The Brayden Smith Memorial Fund, established by Brayden’s dad and mom, is “dedicated to furthering the educational aspirations of southern Nevada students.”
Smith gained almost $116,000 throughout his five-day profitable streak final year. He was one of many final contestants to look on the favored quiz present alongside Alex Trebek, the legendary host who died of pancreatic most cancers in November.

A Liberty High School alum and 2020 UNLV graduate, Brayden was described by his household as “a serious student who lived a lifelong dream by appearing as a contestant” on Jeopardy!
Brayden’s household says he was getting ready to compete within the present’s Tournament of Champions on the time of his loss of life.
The scholarship will help college students who share Brayden’s ardour for studying. According to the program’s website, distributions will embrace funds for scholarship awards, convention charges, seminar tuitions, analysis grants, college provides, subject journeys, and extra.
