Nick Offerman won an award at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for his role in The Last of Us. He got the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series award for his performance in the third episode.
The competition had actors from HBO shows, and Offerman was up against James Cromwell and Arian Moayed from Succession. In his acceptance speech, Offerman thanked his partner Megan Mullally and mentioned how fortunate events don’t always follow the expected path.
He suggested that there could be a miniseries focusing on the relationship between his character, Bill, and Frank, played by Murray Bartlett. They portrayed two men who formed a deep connection in a post-apocalyptic world, evolving from reluctant friends to lifelong partners.
Bartlett, a double nominee, also received a nomination for his role in Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales and previously won an Emmy in 2022. Offerman’s nomination was his fourth, with his co-star Anna Torv also receiving a nod.
Other nominees included Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Montreal Woodard, who played brothers in The Last of Us, and James Cromwell from Succession. Melanie Lynskey was nominated in the guest actress category.
Cromwell, in his fourth nomination, concluded his run on Succession.
He was recognized for his impactful portrayal of Logan Roy’s brother. Moayed, a Succession regular, received his second nomination in this category for playing venture capitalist Stewy Hosseini.
