The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to hospital on the recommendation of his physician after feeling unwell, Buckingham Palace has mentioned.

Prince Philip, 99, was final evening taken to the King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London, as a ‘precautionary measure’ and is anticipated to stay there for just a few days.

In an announcement, Buckingham Palace mentioned: ‘His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London, on Tuesday night.

‘The Duke’s admission is a precautionary measure, on the recommendation of His Royal Highness’s Doctor, after feeling unwell.

‘The Duke is anticipated to stay in hospital for just a few days of statement and relaxation.’

Last month it was introduced that each the Duke and the Queen had obtained their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 

Philip’s sickness is not believed to be Covid-related and his admission is not being handled as an emergency.

Royal sources mentioned he was pushed to the King Edward VII Hospital by automotive earlier than strolling in unaided. They added to ITV that he stays in ‘good spirits’.

He spent 4 nights at King Edward Hospital in December 2019, the place he was handled for a “pre-existing condition” and was later discharged on Christmas Eve.

The duke was then pushed to Sandringham and spent Christmas with the Queen.
