Dolly Parton is formally reuniting along with her “9 to 5” co-stars, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
The nation music icon, 75, will star in an upcoming episode of “Grace and Frankie,” Netflix confirmed on Friday.
The streaming service didn’t reveal what role Parton will play on the hit sitcom, which has been operating since 2015.
Production of the seventh and ultimate season of “Grace and Frankie” wrapped earlier this week, that means the “Jolene” songstress has already filmed her cameo alongside Tomlin, 82, and Fonda, 83. The episode will air in early 2022.
It’s been 41 years for the reason that trio starred collectively in “9 to 5” — the traditional workplace comedy that grossed greater than $100 million on the field office.
Fans have been petitioning for years to have Parton star on “Grace and Frankie,” which focuses on the unlikely friendship of two ladies whose longtime husbands go away them to marry one another.
Parton has beforehand spoken of her want to make an look on the present.
“I’ve been trying to do ‘Grace and Frankie’ for years,” the crooner advised British TV host Lorraine Kelly on her show, “Lorraine,” again in February.
“We worked so well together on ‘9 to 5,’ it’s a crazy wonderful show,” Parton stated. “We’ve been trying to write me in somehow. So when it’s safe for us to actually do a production when they’re back, I’ll probably get around to doing that.”
Meanwhile, again in January, Tomlin told The Today show that she hoped Parton would make a “Grace and Frankie” guest look.
“We’re always hoping that will happen,” Tomlin said. “We have a great role for her this time, I think she will do it. I’m just hoping she will.”
