Cam Newton Is Motivated

Cam Newton has the same mindset he had a year ago. To prove he’s still able to play quarterback in the NFL. Clearly, last year was an awful one, to say the least, this year is a new one with talent around him. There’s just one question can he throw? He has been working on his throwing mechanics this offseason and had a great last day of minicamp. However, how will he look in training camp? Will, he beat Rookie Mac Jones for the starting job? That answer is yes because Belichick still has faith in Newton.

Newton recently said he feeds off the haters from trainer George Whitfield Jr.’s Instagram account.

“Feed your focus. Feed it. If the hate ain’t in my focus, I don’t feed it. I feed off of it, but I don’t feed it. It’s two different things. When I sense or when I dwell on hatred, that’s the product that’s gonna come out: rage, anger. But that’s the hatred using me, not me using the hatred. So I want to process that and make that fuel me. I don’t dwell on what a person may say, what this person may say, she say, I just use it to my advantage, and I feed what I want it to feed.”

You gotta visualize yourself already there. Get your mental thought of being in that moment and taking your place there,” Newton said. “And once you get there, find so much distress that you can gutter up and feel comfortable in it. Whenever that is. And that’s how you grind. You know what I’m saying? Just take your mind to that place, stay there, get uncomfortable, and be comfortable with being in that position.”

The Pressure Is On For Cam Newton

Newton has a lot of work to do as really his career is on the line. There is zero excuses he doesn’t improve from 2020. He’s had a full offseason and new talent on the roster. The Patriots should be a playoff team with the additions they added in free agency. It’ll be interesting to see how training camp opens up with the quarterback competition. Will Cam Newton rise? Or will Mac Jones beat him? Will Jarrett Stidham be on the team in September? Those are the questions that will be answered in the coming months.
