After a DNA test, a desperate pregnant woman who chose adoption is reunited with her child 33 years later

0

At 18 years old Melanie Pressley discovered she was pregnant and had a difficult choice to make.

The father of her child had no interest in being a dad, but Melanie wanted her baby to have a mother and a father and knowing that her financial situation wasn’t stable enough to support a child alone, Melanie made the very tough decision to give her baby up for adoption.

“You go through a mourning period and yet live the rest of your life mourning,” Melanie said.

Melanie gave birth to her son on June 17, 1988, and even got to hold him before he was taken from her. Her sister took a picture of the two of them and this has been her only connection for over 30 years.

Her son was adopted by the Vossler family, who named him Greg Vossler.

Melanie was left heartbroken and lived in hope that one day she would hold her baby boy again.

Since that day Melanie has married and had three more children.

Greg learned he was adopted at 10 years old but his curiosity about his biological mom peaked when he became an adult and had a family of his own.

The 33-year-old Virginia resident decided to take a DNA test not realizing that his biological mom had also decided to take the test after her mom’s death.

The two found each other online and then eventually met in person in Ohio in June 2021.

Greg chatted with Melanie for hours and also met 20 of his blood relatives including his half-brother and two half-sisters — while Melanie met Greg’s wife and two sons.

“Life has a funny way of giving you what you need, not what you want and I guess life just realized that we needed this connection and our families needed each other,” Greg said.

Meanwhile Melanie said that her heart was filled up again when she first held her son again after so long.

“After finding him, I felt like my heart was just whole again. Becoming older, you kind of become a little wiser, but there is no shame in giving somebody up for adoption. There are loving couples out there that cannot have children that would love to raise a child.

“I’m telling you, if you could meet Greg, he was given a life beyond my belief. He was raised with manners. He was raised how you would dream. It’s just unbelievable.”

A Man Picks Up His Daughter From His Ex’s House And Discovers Something Disturbing In Her Diaper

A Salt Lake City, Utah, mother has been charged with wiretapping for secretly recording conversations between her ex-husband and children.

Teri Anne Smith, 37, placed a recording device in a diaper bag nine times when her children visited their father in 2012, reports Standard Examiner. A device was also found in one of her children’s coat pockets by the father.

Smith’s lawyer argued that it was legal for her to record the conversations as she thought her children were in danger from sexual abuse and federal and state laws give a parent that right under such a circumstance. A request for the charges to be dropped was made in June.

“The state and the alleged victim disagree (with the defendant) concerning any claims of sexual abuse that was taking place,” Deputy Davis County Attorney Richard Larsen said.

No charges of abuse have been brought against the ex-husband.

In court, Larsen argued that if law enforcement personnel bugged someone’s home without their knowledge, “they’d be sued.”

The three counts of wiretapping or intercepting electronic communications, all third-degree felonies, will stand against Smith.

The wiretapping charges carry a possible jail time of five years or a fine of up to $5,000, reports The Daily Mail.

Smith is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 27.

Baby was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer right after she was born, spends 130 nights in hospital before doctors revealed this!

0

At only four months old, the little girl was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The doctors discovered the disease after it had spread to almost every part of her body.

From the diagnosis followed 15 months of grueling treatment involving chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and several rounds of radiation.

Molly was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, which, according to the health officials, is a type of cancer that manifests from immature nerve cells found in various parts of the body (particularly around the adrenal glands which sit atop the kidneys).

The cancerous cells can also develop around the abdomen area, chest, neck and spine. As for Molly, her family recounts spending nearly 130 nights in the hospital while she underwent a series of cancer treatments. Molly’s mother Chelsea Hughes stated “we’re just thankful that she made it through all that treatment. It was tough. She got really, really sick. The treatments are just so harsh on [children’s] bodies.” One of the five rounds of chemotherapy Molly underwent caused hearing loss and now she has to put on hearing aids as a consequence.

Several treatments later, Molly’s test results revealed her cancer had vanished. In an interview with CNN, her mother said that the family was so relieved that Molly had beat the odds and that she was now free of cancer. She says that Molly is cheerful and doing all the normal toddler stuff she missed out on while undergoing treatment. However, doctors are warning that cancer has a history of relapsing and that Molly should be monitored every three months for the next five years as a consequence. The toddler is currently on a new trial drug to prevent the disease from relapsing.

Molly’s mom is still convinced that her child needs prayer until she is completely clear of any further cancer risk. She shares regular updates about her daughter on her social media account. Molly is all grown up now and enjoying her childhood.

Prosecutors said the 37-year-old defendant, Andrew, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences after he was found guilty on multiple charges, including: aggravated murder, abduction, child neglect, child abuse, aggravated malicious wounding, assault and possession of methamphetamine.

According to the court documents, the 2-year-old child, Harper, was beaten to death by Andrew while Harper’s mother, Amanda, was at work.

On April 16, 2020, the then-boyfriend arrived late to pick up Amanda from work. During an interview with investigators, Amanda reportedly said that she wanted to take her girl to a hospital.

Andrew wouldn’t let her and put a gun to her head to dissuade her, court records say. Harper got medical attention after Amanda called Andrew’s mom, who called 911.

First responders rushed the child to the hospital. Per reports, the girl had a visible mark on her forehead and was taken off life support later that week. During an interview with investigators, the 37-year-old man gave multiple excuses, such as: the child fell out of a shopping cart. Andrew also said Harper fell off a four-wheeler. He also added that Harper reacted poorly to something she ate because of a nut allergy and her condition worsened as the day passed.

During the trial, the prosecution called Christopher s a witness. Per reports, he was in jail with Andrew when he was first taken to jail. Christopher reportedly told prosecutors that while in jail, Andrew reportedly told him he would get high on meth while watching the children and believes Harper may have gotten into his bag of methamphetamine and was later unresponsive. Detective Austin said during the interview an argument had started over a potential breakup between Amanda and Andrew, and that injuries to Amanda could be from se* or wrestling with the children.
